Sodium Hydroxide(NaOH) and Magnesium Oxide (MgO) Loading
Sulfur Oxide (SOx), contained in the exhaust gas of a vessel engine, is lowering the contamination level below the relevant environmental value by using Sodium Hydroxide and Magnesium Oxide (MgO) as catalyst.
SOx is reduced when applying Sodium Hydroxide and Magnesium Oxide to the scrubber mounted on the exhaust system of a vessel.
The International Maritime Organization(IMO) has significantly enhanced the environmental regulations on Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) and Sulfuric Oxides (SOx) emitting from vessels since January 2016.
